INVESTIGATION ON ILLEGAL TRADE AND SEIZURE OF FAKE FUEL IN THE CITY OF YAOUNDE

The Ministry of Water and Energy working hand in glove with the forces of law and order are carrying out an ongoing operation to control and stop the illegal trafficking of fake fuel and petrol in the capital city of Cameroon Yaounde.
The team sent on this operation which consists of the petroleum department, the communication unit and the forces of law and order, visited messassi, Olembe, Nkometou among others and found out that despite the measures put in place by the government to eradicate these illegal practices, the people  found in these areas still deliberately carry on with the crime.
In some of these localities, the team found about 240 litres of gasoil hidden in stores and even inside their homes and could even  cause a high risk of fire incidents.
Difficult to believe how they themselves willingly put their own lives and that of their loved ones in  danger.
Nevertheless, these people complained of the jobless nature of the country and used that as an excuse for carrying out such a risky trade.
They add that , had it been the government had it been the government had provided jobs for them they wouldn't find themselves doing illegal business.
Also, note should been taken that the 240 litres of gazoil that was seized was later handed over to SCDP. From where auction sales will be made.
